OFFICIAL PROGRAM FOR THE PRINCE WEDDING Friday 1st July 5 p.m.:The civil wedding will take place in the Throne Room at the Prince’s Palace. It will be celebrated by Mr Philippe Narmino, President of the Council of State. Mr Philippe Narmino is the Sovereign Family’s civil registrar. Monegasques will be able to follow the ceremony on giant screens in the Palace Square. The Square will be open to Monegasques and their family at 4 p.m. 5.50 p.m.: Following the ceremony, the royal couple will make an appearance on the balcony of the Hall of Mirrors to greet the Monegasque people. 6 p.m.:Monegasques will be offered a buffet cocktail in the Palace Square. On this occasion, the Mayor will present the royal couple with the gift given by the Monegasque people. 8 p.m.:Residents of the Principality will be invited to a reception in the Harbour. 10 p.m.: A big concert will be laid on by the royal couple in Port Hercule. Jean-Michel Jarre will stage a unique son and lumière show. Saturday 2nd July 5 p.m.:The religious wedding will take place in the Main Courtyard of the Prince’s Palace. Miss Wittstock, on her father’s arm, will walk along a red carpet from the Carabiniers Barracks to the altar. His Grace Bernard Barsi, Archibishop of Monaco, will celebrate the mass. The doors of the Palace will remain open in order to enable approximately 3,500 people to attend, seated, the ceremony broadcast on giant screens in the Palace Square. 6.30 p.m.:The royal couple will leave the Palace for Sainte Dévote’s Church so that the Princess can lay down her bouquet. The public will be able to take position along the whole route to congratulate the royal couple. The procession will pass along Avenue de la Porte Neuve, Avenue du Port and Boulevard Albert I, and return to the Palace using the same route. Giant screens will be set up in the Principality so that as many people as possible can follow the religious ceremony and the royal couple’s wedding route. 9.30 p.m.: The official dinner and the ball will take place in the Opera Garnier and the Casino Terraces. Midnight: Dinner will conclude with a firework display. A wide range of musical entertainment will take place throughout the evening. |
